For 2 weeks now the residents of Nairopi estate have been in distress because of the frequent loss of their priced possessions (chicken). It appears a "ghost" has been disapearing with the chickens without a trace. In my quest to investigate the saga, I came across a young man named Epenesa loitering in the estate. I decided to follow him closely since he appeared to be of strange character. And this was my discovery:
Epenesa seats in this abandoned house in the neighboring estate as he makes a strategy on his chicken stealing moves in the estate after realizing he has the fire ready but no sweetness to accompany the fire.
He wakes up very early in the morning and starts checking in his next door neighbor's store (mama Pilepile) if the chicken has been set free for the day and proceeds to do the same with the other neighbors.
On discovery that they are free, he begins his hunt before most of the neighborhood is awake.
His next stop is always the train station where he has a gunia (sack) ready for the chickens.
This was the last point I saw him. I had just turned away a bit to pick a phone call and he was not on site.
I have since talked to the estate chairman and the resident's association regarding my discovery and the search has began. As it stands now, no one really knows where he is because he can no longer be found in the abandoned house I first saw him.
A price tag of unlimited kuku pono for a whole month from Nairopi estate's fast food joint will be gifted to anyone who comes up with the first accurate report regarding Epenesa's whereabouts.
The search for Epenesa the chicken thief continues...
